Meet Our Team
Peter Partridge, CIM, FCSI
Vice President & Portfolio Manager
Peter (Sr.) has been associated with RBC Dominion Securities and predecessor firms as an Investment Advisor since 1970. He has been a Vice President of the firm since 1982 and managed the St. Catharines office for 17 years. The business has greatly evolved since Peter began his career and, today, he and Pete Jr. continue to serve clients of Partridge Wealth Management. Peter was granted the Portfolio Manager designation which allows him to offer clients Private Investment Management (PIM) – RBC’s premier discretionary investment management program.
Peter's early career was music oriented. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, where he was also the assistant to the Organist of Westminster Abbey. Peter returned to Canada after graduation to accept the appointment of Director of Music at Ridley College in St. Catharines where he taught for 5 years. He maintained his love for music as a church organist and choirmaster for 27 years at St. Paul Street United Church, retiring in 1997. He is a past president of the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, a past Trustee of Brock University and currently is chairman of The Advisory Committee of Rodman Hall Arts Centre.
Peter’s passion for music and the arts has been evident throughout a lifetime of participation in the local arts community. Most recently he has played an integral role in the New Performing Arts Centre in downtown St. Catharines that is slated to open in the fall of 2015. As the Fundraising Cabinet Chairman, Peter has ensured that his love of the arts, and belief in its power to transform individuals and communities, will continue on for generations to come. In early April 2013, Peter and his family kicked-off the first phase of the new Performing Arts Centre’s capital fundraising campaign with an incredibly generous gift of $1 million. The vital contribution Peter and his family have made to the new Performing Arts Centre will be immortalized as Partridge Hall – the largest of the four stunning performance venues that comprise our state-of-the-art cultural and academic complex in downtown St Catharines.
Peter enjoys traveling and fitness workouts every morning at 5:15am at the Walker Family YMCA. Most summer weekends are spent at the family cottage with his wife, Janet, and his two beloved golden retrievers, Charlie and Gryphon.

Peter is also a Vice President of the firm.
Peter is happily married to Poppy Gilliam and is very supportive of her career (an elementary school principal within the District School Board of Niagara). Peter and Poppy have two boys. As a family they love sports, music, traveling, and spending lots of time up north at the family cottage in the summer.
Away from work, Peter keeps very active in the community. Peter is the Chair of the St. Catharines Community Fund, part of the Niagara Community Foundation, which raises permanently endowed funds to benefit citizens of St. Catharines. When Peter and Poppy got married in 2005, they established the Partridge Gilliam Family Fund through the Niagara Community Foundation. This fund benefits various local children’s charities as selected by Peter and Poppy each year. He is also on the committee for the Annual Mayor’s Au Marche that takes place at the Market Square in St. Catharines each summer. Since the launch of this event in 2004, more than 1,900 children and youth have benefited from this program and received financial assistance in order to participate in sports, recreation or cultural programs in St. Catharines. Peter and Poppy have also been busy with the United Way of St. Catharines. Peter is currently the Chair of Major Giving, he’s on the Board of Directors, and he’s on the Campaign Cabinet. Peter has also been volunteer coaching high school football at his alma mater, Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, for the past 15 years. The team has had a lot of success and many players have gone on to play football at university. He also helps with the Bulldog Football Alumni Association in running their annual golf tournament that raises funds for the program. They have raised almost $100,000 since 2001 for the program. This includes a purchase in 2009 of a state-of-the-art wireless scoreboard at Sir Winston. A favourite charity of Peter’s is AMICI, a registered charitable organization that raises funds to send financially challenged children to summer camps. Peter was active helping establish a major endowment fund for the University of Guelph Football Program.
